Interventional Cardiologist – Academic Appointment
The Department of Cardiology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing academic faculty. This position combines a busy clinical practice with the opportunity to teach, mentor, and contribute to academic medicine in a collaborative environment.
Clinical Responsibilities include:
- Outpatient clinic, including outreach
- Attending on the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) service and/or consult service
- Participation in the STEMI call schedule
- Performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab
Academic & Teaching Responsibilities:
- Teach and mentor interventional and cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students
- Serve as one of the core faculty for the interventional cardiology fellowship program
- Contribute to ongoing clinical research and scholarly work
- Support the growth of the interventional cardiology program within an academic setting
Qualifications:
- MD/DO or related degree with board certification or board eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease
- Formal training in Interventional Cardiology through an accredited fellowship program
- Board certification/eligibility in Interventional Cardiology
- Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment.
- Leadership qualities and assets are highly valued.
- Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Passion for providing high-quality care to patients and advancing the field of cardiology.
- Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents, cardiology fellows, and other healthcare providers.
- Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in the state of New York.
