ALBANY, NEW YORK (USA). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY is seeking a seventh AP/CP board-certified, Hematopathology fellowship-trained pathologist to join our expanding Division of Hematopathology.
Clinical Activities include:
- Hematopathology sign-out (bone marrow, tissue, blood/CSF on a rotating basis)
- Shared Hematopathology call
- A second area of interest is desirable but not required
Academic Activities Include:
- 1-on-1 and group sign-out with hematopathology fellow, residents, medical students and visiting observers
- Didactic lectures, unknown slide conference and supervising residents’ presentations such as journal club, gross conference and grand rounds.
- Translational research opportunities are available and participation is encouraged and supported

Base salary range is commensurate with experience and academic rank: $224,000-$336,500.
Total compensation is area-competitive and includes an initial sign-on bonus and significant quarterly incentive component. Superior benefits include pension plan access and employer-sponsored life insurance and disability insurance.

Albany Medical Center, a quaternary care 767-bed academic medical center, serves as the academic hub of the 4 hospital Albany Med Health System. The Pathology department consists of 21 faculty members, an ACGME accredited pathology residency program and one ACGME-accredited hematopathology fellowship program. The clinical laboratory supports fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) and molecular diagnostics with a well-equipped departmental research laboratory for translational research endeavors.
