DescriptionFred Hutch Cancer Center, a global leader in cancer research and prevention, is seeking an exceptional academic leader to serve as Division Director & Senior Vice President for the Public Health Sciences Division. Based in Seattle, this is a rare opportunity to shape the direction of one of the most respected public health research programs in the world.
The Director will both join and lead the faculty of a division comprised of researchers, clinicians, and health economists dedicated to public health sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, and cancer prevention. The Public Health Sciences Division is home to over 80 faculty and affiliates and was the first cancer prevention program funded by the National Cancer Institute. With a legacy of landmark contributions in cancer risk assessment, early detection, and health disparities, the division also leads several national data and clinical coordination centers, including the Cancer Screening Research Network and the Women's Health Initiative.
The next Division Director will bring a visionary approach to leadership, guiding five integrated research programs-Biostatistics, Cancer Prevention, Computational Biology, Epidemiology, and Translational Research. The ideal candidate will be a nationally recognized scholar with a proven track record in public health sciences, a deep commitment to mentorship, and the ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration across academia, healthcare, and government.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of impactful independent research and leadership in public health sciences, with significant experience in securing and maintaining a robust portfolio of funding.
This appointment will be at the rank of a full-time full professor, with primary appointment in the Public Health Sciences Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. A potential joint appointment may be considered at the University of Washington School of Public Health or relevant departments at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Qualifications
Candidates must have an MD, PhD, or equivalent, and have experience as an independent research investigator (lab-based or office-based), as well as expertise and interest in scientific areas relevant to the mission of PHS and Fred Hutch. The candidate should have a demonstrated track record of leadership and demonstrated success in maintaining funding for their research program.
The pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. The annual base salary ranges for this position are for a PhD $235K - $350K and for an MD $255- $500K. In addition, this role includes an administrative supplement (ADS), and performance or milestone related incentives. This role is eligible for relocation and sign-on bonus.
Fred Hutch Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
